The three-storey town house was erected in 1873 by Beardall and Glencross for Thomas Anthony. Anthony resided here for some time and later leased the premises to Rev. Dr. L D Bevan, a prominent minister at the Collins Street Independent Church. The street facade is rendered and the two lower stories are verandahed. The townhouse was erected in 1853-54 by Thomas N Wilson, a produce and grain merchant. Alterations and additions were made in 1859 and 1962. Wilson occupied the premises until the 1890's. He sold it in 1907 to Henry McDonough, another produce and grain merchant, whose family owned the house until 1966. The two storey bluestone facade has a single storey verandah.
